The second week of the season saw all four favorites win their match-ups.  All three teams above 1,500 had gains and Heather moved closer to being rated above average for the long term.  Remember, these ratings are cumulative across seasons.

As expected, the Lannisters has the smallest gain relative to the other winners.  The Possums lost the fewest points.  Chris P. saw a nice rebound, while the Goofballs fell even further behind the Thunderwolves.

Week 03 offers several intriguing match-ups.  The PhoeGnomes have a chance to rise above 1,500 with a win over the Lannisters.  Both the Possums and Thunderwolves can pick some points with a win, especially since they are relatively evenly matched.  The same can be said for the Goofballs and Happy Hollidays.  Finally, the Armadillos may overtake the Legion for second with a victory.  However, Chris P. could return to first with a win and a Lannisters’ loss.

Overall, the week promises several more close contests.  Only the Lannisters are heavy favorites, and this is somewhat deceptive since the PhoeGnomes are playing at a higher level than their rating would indicate.  The other three match-ups are all within 56%/44% or closer, meaning the results are essentially coin flips.
